The tower of the New Town Hall houses the Glockenspiel, a beautiful carillon that is over 100 years old. Come here at 11 a.m. or noon to hear the Glockenspiel chime and watch the 32 life-sized figures reenact historical Bavarian events.

The Catholic Cathedral of Our Blessed Lady is the landmark of Munich and the city's largest church; it holds up to 20,000 people.

You can also climb the steps of the towers - the view of Munich's cityscape and the Bavarian Alps is breathtaking.
The architectural style of the brick-built cathedral is late Gothic from the 15th century.
Its famous domes atop each tower were modeled on the Dome of the Rock in Jerusalem.
Olympic Stadium of Munich. This stadium was the site of the 1972 Summer Olympics, and its design was revolutionary and futuristic for its time: The sweeping and transparent canopies of acrylic glass that were modeled on the Alps are the signature characteristic of the Olympic Stadium.
No trip to Munich is complete without a visit to the most famous beer hall in the world, the Hofbräuhaus.
The Hofbräuhaus brewery was built in 1589; in the surface of the long wooden tables, you can spot names, comments, and dates that were engraved more than 100 years ago.
The Hofbräuhaus, located close to central Marienplatz, serves hearty, regional specialties such as veal sausage, pork roast, and brewer goulash, the Beer is served in 1-liter steins, and Bavarian bands play the signature Oompah-beat daily.

Oktoberfest is the world's largest fair and one of the best festivals in Germany: Every year, over 6 million visitors from all over the world come to Munich to drink beer, eat sausage and join together in song.
Oktoberfest is famous for its huge beers in heavy steins, but there is more to the Bavarian festival; link arms with locals, swing to the Oompha of Bavarian bands, admire traditional costumes, enjoy hearty food, and get a good helping of German hospitality.
The nights are long at Kulturfabrik. It is the combination of 30 clubs, various artists’ studios and bars that serves up an appealing cocktail for the mixed crowd that can be found at the former dumpling factory.
For years, the Nachtcafe has been the ultimate highlight for night-owls and is, besides the Hofbräuhaus, probably the best-known address of its kind in Munich. Every night, outstanding live music is performed here by international artists.
The clientele is a colourful mixture of all ages and a variety of interests. In summer, the Aussenterrasse, or outer terrace, which features a variety of bars, is a sensational destination for celebrating, enjoying a drink and making friends.
